Driver Runs Over A Year Old Boy In Onitsha

A year-old boy was on Saturday confirmed dead after he was ran over by a neighbor in Ezeiweka road, Awada, in Onitsha, Anambra State.
The suspect, Edwin Elemuo, was said to be driving out of his compound with a Sienna Toyota car when he suddenly ran over the deceased, identified as Muna Ozor.
247ureport learnt that the deceased was immediately rushed to Boromeo Hospital in the area where he was certified dead by the doctor on duty.
Confirming the incident, the State Police Public Relations Officer, Haruna Mohammed, said the suspect has been arrested, adding that the case was being investigated.
He urged parents and vehicle users to always be cautious and closely inspect the vicinities their vehicles were parked before driving out to avert similar occurrences.
