Boko haram terrorists killed at least 40 residents last Saturday during an attack on Gubio local government area which is about 55 kilometers away from Maiduguri the Borno state capital , a local vigilante official said.
The insurgents attacked Gubio town at about 4: 30pm last Saturday and came in about six hilux vehicles befor chanting Allah akbar and started shooting sporadically says Bana Alhaji, a local vigilante official in Gubio town.
Loading ...” the terrorists burnt many houses , killed many residents in their homes, while many residents escaped to bush with bullets injury ” Alhaji told Governor Shettima who visited Gubio town on Tuesday.
Alhaji added ; ” as at today over 40 dead bodies was counted while some people are still missing “
Governor Kashim shettima of Borno State however appealed to the residents not to flee, as he said adequate security measures have been put in place to safe guard lives and properties in the area.
