The Boko Haram Terrorists Jihadist movement has perfected plans to invade Maiduguri, the capital city of Borno State in Northeastern Nigeria. This is according to what sources who recently fled the town of Bama into Maiduguri told 247ureports.com yesterday in Maiduguri. Bama is located about 70km away from Maiduguri.
An elderly woman, Hajja Maira, who fled the yet-to-be-recaptured, yesterday, arrived the Internally Displaced Persons [IDPs] camp located in the Maiduguri metropolis told 247ureports.com that plans have been set to lay ambush on the security agents in Maiduguri. Her grandson was abducted by the Boko Haram group and forcefully indoctrinated into the group. The son now parades as a Boko Haram gun man – with an AK47 riffle always by his right shoulder.
Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.According to Hajja Maira, she overheard discussions with her boys and other Boko Haram members – while still in Bama town – that “Boko Haram Terrorists are warming up to lay ambush on the residents of Maiduguri city“.
Hajja Maira’s narration was in vernacular. “You know, I was in Bama town since when those Boko Haram people overran the town. All my people fled to Yerwa (Maiduguri), and my only grandson and I remained there indoors, hiding for some while before he was discovered and taken away by Boko Haram fighters for which I cried tired.
“He was later brought back to me but unfortunately in a Boko Haram dress. He just turned like them (Boko Haram). He wore soldiers’ kaki, and he was carrying gun on his right hand shoulder. Ever since, he had been showing up home until I left Bama town last week.
“Though I was so scared but I listened to whatever he told me. He had not been sleeping at home but every morning he comes back and brings food for me. He kept comforting me that I shouldn’t get panic; but I just kept praying.
“Up until last 10 days when I disclosed to him that I want to leave for Yerwa (Maiduguri) to look for his mother, siblings, cousin brothers and sisters who fled Bama towm since day one when Boko Haram came seized the town.
“He initially disagreed but two days later agreed, warning me to not stay long there. If I just meet any of my people that I’m looking for, I should just tell them that they should better come back to Bama town; or, if I couldn’t see any, I shouldn’t waste time in Yerwa (Maiduguri).
“When finally, he and 4 others came in a van like soldiers’ own, all of them wore soldiers kaki and carrying guns and other things that I don’t even know, took me to an outskirts downwards that was where they dropped me, stressing that I should go and check as quickly as possible.
“There is where and when I heard them saying that all preparations have been done for them to attack Yerwa (Maiduguri).
The security forces stationed in Maiduguri – in talking to 247ureports.com – confirmed Maira’s claims that the members of Boko Haram are set to invade the capital city. They stated that the Nigerian military had received the intelligence about a week ago of Boko Haram maneuverings to enter Maiduguri in an early morning surprise attack. The agent explained that the military has since taken up positions in the capital city to defend the city against the possible invasion. “We have been detonating IEDs every morning to scare would be attackers off“. The agent added however that Maiduguri is safe for now.
