The real situation at hand right now has called for an inept opinion of people with sound mind to bare their stance and so as to further guide the decision of our people at a critical time in the history of our political system. Like I always do on issues that concern our people, to discuss within my ‘street allies’ i.e. “nwkobi joint members, newspaper stands, commuter bus parks etc” on the need for the truthful and determined persons to hold leadership positions in our country. The truth is, our people have successfully succeeded to view politics as an all politicians affaire. Alas! I beg to disagree. Politics to me is not just that. It is an exercise as I simply call it, that ought to enable us bring to bear and rise above the primordial sentiments so as to critically put to test the characters and the dexterities of the people we allow to occupy leadership positions for us. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a politician or not. What matters is the ability to deliver. Ability to use what is deposited inside of you to make the society better. That personality is what I have seen in Hon. Chinedu Ejikeme, Nkwonta.

To buttress this dispositions, and for us to properly dot our ‘i’ and cross our ‘t’on the capabilities of the people that have declared interest to run for the office of the State Chairman of our great party. Chinedu Ejikeme Nkwonta, a native of Nawfia in Njikoka Local Government of Anambra State was born on the 9th of September 1963. He studied Television Production Technology at Greenwich University London. He lives in the United Kingdom since 1988 and was invited back to Anambra State in 2003 and appointed the Honourable Commissioner for Special Duties by His Excellency, Dr. C. C. Mbadinuju.

“Kpom Nigeria” as he is fondly called, is a gentleman with a great deal of impeccability in terms of standing firm for what he believes in and a sound mind to critically and constructively understand and analyze every situation and come up with the best strategy to surmount it. He is a good listener and thus a good student. He never under rates anyone no matter how low or high class you are. He will never forget to look back to know if the next person around him is comfortable. One distinguishing fact is that Hon. Chinedum is always hungry of creative innovative ideas that are capable of “raising a dead man” to say the least.

I have worked closely with Hon. Chinedum Nkwonta “Kpom Nigeria” in recent time during the just concluded general elections in Nigeria. He particularly headed my unit where I saw in him a man that loves and appreciates nothing but hardwork and creativity. He can subject you to any kind of pressure in other to ensure that our collective success is achieved.

Moving forward, I do not think that his desire to run for the Chairman of APGA Anambra State Chapter at this point in time is born out of external pressure or request. The Kpom Nigeria I know cannot yield to such pressure if ab-initio he has no plans for it. I firmly know that even ever before mounting the podium to run the race, the passion is already there. Thus, I think He is the right man for the job.

The task before us today in APGA as a party requires men and ladies with the passion and zeal to walk the talk. A lot has been said but very little has been done. APGA needs to be re-awakened so as to quickly utilize the available porosity that now exists in the opposition ecology of Nigeria’s political history. It is obvious now that there is need to have a solid opposition party that will constantly put the leading party on the check. By so doing, the party needs to constructively attack any dangerous policy taken by the leading party and that position is where I want APGA to be in the shortest period of time.

The time to do that which is exigent is now. The outgoing leadership of APGA headed by its erudite National Chairman, Chief Sir. Victor Umeh has done marvellously well despite the crisis it has faced. The hardwork of Chief Umeh’s leadership has to be well nurtured and consolidated too. The people that will do this should be men of sound mind, men with the commitment, dedication and passion for hardwork, that could help nurture the intention of the executive Governor of Anambra State Dr. Willie Obiano and further lunch APGA into a formidable opposition party by the next general elections in Nigeria and the man to do that is Hon. Chinedum Nkwonta (Idengeli na Nawfia, Kpom Nigeria).

I have gone round to check other contestants for the same position. It is only Hon. Chinedum Nkwonta that has been able to put in black and white his aspirations and agenda for APGA in Anambra State. Chinedu has discussed extensively on these agenda amongst which are ; -Credible Leadership in all Strata; – Harmonisation Committee; – Anambra APGA; -Membership Drive; – Workshops and Trainings; -APGA Memorabilia; – Recognition Awards; – Media Team and many other issues.

The underlying idea therefore is that the political equation in Anambra as it is today is at near equilibrium point. A look at the structure shows that the only imbalance that requires an urgent attention is to allow the Anambra Central Senatorial District take the leadership of the State party. That notwithstanding, dealing with a politically aware people like Ndi Anambra requires advanced reasoning and understanding of the way we see things, we must not take the loyalty of our people for granted, they never forget. An Anambrarian, is very independent minded and always use such opportunities like elections to make bold statements on his/her feelings and positions concerning all issues and policies as it concerns and borders him/her. In fact, Ndi Anambra is watching every step APGA makes on daily basis and very critically too. And these concerns, are what I know that Hon. Chinedum Nkwonta, Kpom Nigeria understands very well and very eager too to get on structures that would immediately enable him achieve his agenda of APGANIZATION of Anambra State.

The present political shift at the centre with an opposition party winning the Presidential election is an obvious indication that things will never be the same again. It is no longer business as usual. The nature of politics have taken a different turn and can only allow political parties that are smart enough to read, interpret and analyze constructively too, the political swings and strategize accordingly. APGA as a political party have to get ready and be better position than ever to explore and gain more territories, lay ambush like a predator and catch on the mistakes that are bound to be made by the new power block, APC. There is no reason why APGA cannot achieve that fit. Being the only opposition party with a State in Nigeria at present due to the collapse of Labour Party in Ondo State and obvious crisis in the PDP that are capable of decimating it in no distant future, the ground is obviously fertile for APGA.

I am optimistic that with the right people in positions, people that have the capacity to plan, execute and possibly exceed expectations, as I have seen in the personality of Hon. Chinedum Nkwonta, (Idengeli na Nawfia, Kpom Nigeria) APGA shall become a giant political force in Nigeria soonest and if you ask me what I mean?, what I mean is that APGA can easily become the main opposition party within the NEXT TWO ELECTIONS and that is achievable. Just believe.

Having said all these, it is my sincere opinion and candid too that comes Saturday the 22nd of May, 2015. The members of our great party APGA should do the needful and right thing too by voting for the right man and that man is Hon. Chinedum Nkwonta (Idengeli na Nawfia, Kpom Nigeria) for the State Chairman, APGA.
