A source within the APC told our correspondent that Tony Nwoye who is considered a “boy” of the oil mogul billionaire, Chief Arthur Eze is said to have become concerned over the latest indication within the would-be delegates of the upcoming exercise. “Andy Uba has bought up everything both locally and nationally” says the source who adds that Andy Uba has come with an overly intimidating presence to enable the other aspirants to reasonably reach out to the delegates.

The sponsorship of Tony Nwoye appears to have waned as Chief Arthur Eze has developed cold feet over the latest developments. It is recalled that Nwoye hails from Anambra North senatorial district as the incumbent Governor, Obiano. And, he had promised to drain the Governor’s support base if he is selected as the candidate of the APC.

Tony Nwoye had contested for the position of Governor in 2013 under the Peoples Democratic Party [PDP] but lost. He received tremendous support from the oil mogul, Chief Arthur Eze. This time around it remain uncertain the level of support Nwoye will receive from the oil. It also remains uncertain the extent he can reach without the full financial support of the oil mogul.

Andy Uba who hails from the south senatorial district is expected to be selected to fly the banner of the party. Andy Uba had contested severally for the position of governor. He won one of the elections but was recalled by a controversial supreme court that saw Peter Obi returned to the seat of Governor.
