Information reaching 247ureports.com from a competent source in the north eastern state of Borno indicates that the activity at the war theater between the Nigerian military forces and the Boko Haram Jihadist group has continued to heat up without any clear indications of the Jihadist group weakening or letting up. The Jihadist group, according to available information has captured an additional town. They captured Dikwa town, the headquarters of Dikwa Local Government Area located 80kilometers from Maiduguri.

According to the information gathered, the Nigerian air-force had begun massive air attack on the town of Gwoza [last week] following an embarrassing defeat by the ragtag forces of the Boko Haram group. The defeat by the Boko Haram had led to the Nigerian military taking to their heels in flight, abandoning their weapons and war equipment. A substantial number of the soldiers were reported to have escaped in Cameroon for safety – a move which the defense headquarter termed ‘a tactical maneuver‘.

Already, the Jihadist group had captured the border town of Gamboru four [4] weeks ago. The town  remains under the control of the Islamic group.

Presently, it remains unclear whether the town of Gwoza has been captured by the Nigerian military forces – as a result of the air bombardments. But sources within the Nigerian military tell 247ureports.com that the Nigerian military is determined to retake the town of Gwoza and other communities captured by Boko Haram. One of the sources confessed that if the Nigerian military fails to ‘save face’  then ‘there is trouble’.
