Information reaching 247ureports.com through competent sources in Maiduguri indicate that the prowess of the Islamic Jihadist group, Boko Haram has continued unchecked. Available information indicates that the Jihadist group have invaded new communities in Adamawa State near the border of Borno State – inside Madagali local government area. The latest attack comes 48hours after they over ran the police training camp in Limankara village under Gwoza local government area.

The casualty count for the recent invasion of Adamawa State is said to be unknown but sources on the ground believe that it will be high. According to one of the sources, the “attack was the heaviest” to date. “The Nigerian security agents ran away for their lives leaving us to face Boko Haram by ourselves” said the source who added that the terrorists captured many villages with ease. “I would not be surprised if the number of dead people exceed 200”.

The Police Public Relations Officer in Adamawa Mr. Micheal Haa could not confirm the incident as all his contact lines were switched off. But the Executive Chairman of Madagali local government area, Mr. James Abawu Watharda confirmed the attack. He told 247ureports.com that the Jihadist group invaded the many communities in his LGA. He explained that the level of sophistry of the group has reached an alarming level – in the manner they brazenly move into communities with high powered weapons to overpower Nigerian security operatives – and hoisting their flags.

It was also learnt that the Jihadist group moved into the communities with the AK47 at full blast – shooting at everything in their way – and burning down every structure. Unlike their other attacks, eyewitnesses indicated that their numbers were very large. “They attacked from different locations an hoisted their flags at every high point. Many people were shot.”

Pandemonium has set in at the neighboring communities for fear of attack by the Jihadist group who appears to have shown their ability to overpower the Nigerian military. Many of the fleeing villagers have sought refuge in Mubi and Gombi.
