Assistant Inspector general [AIG] in charge of zone-1 Alhaji Tambari yabo visited Jigawa state governor today in the company of the Jigawa state police commissioner J. Kayode, along with four other senior police officers to discuss the new measures for combating terrorism in the state and in the states with violent terrorist activities. The AIG introduce what he termed the “detective point”. The AIG assured that the new measure will improve the level of security in the state.

Kayode further stated that the newly established detective point was a directive from the present inspector general of police. He explained that the detective point is to take charge of controlling the terrorist activities in all the strategic point in all the northern state of the federation. He stated that same point will be introduced in katsina ,kano ,yobe and bauchi states.

He then appealed to governor Lamido for support. He also solicited for prayers from religious leaders as well as from individual because nothing could be successful without prayers

He also urged the good people to assist the security agencies with individual support in exposing the suicide bombers – while adding that if not with people prayers it would be a different story today – where various bomb discovered in mosque and other places.

While responding governor lamido assured his support to police and all other security agencies working in the state – while at the same time charging the police to discharged their duty effectively to save lives and property.

Lamido said security agencies are responsible for protecting the people and it is the responsibility of the federal government to give all the necessary support to all security agencies especially the police   admitting that police in Jigawa are collaborating with security agencies in the state to ensure peace in the state.

Lamido stated that the state government will do whatever it can to do their best to assist police in providing them with all their need to ensure security in the state.
