The unrest in the north eastern region of Nigeria continues to wreak havoc in many folds. This is according to information available to 247ureports.com which indicates that the Emir of the town under the control of the dreaded Jihadist group, the Boko Haram – has come out of hiding and has visit Abuja to meet with the President of the federal republic of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan.

According to available information, the Emir of Gwoza, His Royal Highness, Muhammadu Idrisa Timta snuck out of the mountain top where he had been hiding for one week – visited President Jonathan today [Monday August 18, 2014]. During the meeting, the President assured the refugee Emir of federal assistance to recover the lost territory.

The refugee Emir was reported to have been helped to climb down the large mountains to the waiting arms of the Nigerian security force at Madagali on Tuesday. The Emir was then transported to Abuja.

While the Emir was hidden up at the mountains, his town’s men and women hide his whereabouts. They made the security agents and media folks believe that the Emir had escaped to the state capital [Maiduguri]. According to one of the villagers, they took the decision to safe guard the Emir from another Boko Haram attack.

While in Abuja, the duo of Borno state Governor, Kashim Shettima, and the Senator representing southern Borno and native of Gwoza, Muhammed Ali Ndume, were able to arrange the displaced Emir’s meeting with President Goodluck Jonathan at the Presidential villa.

The Emir who was accompanied by Governor Shettima, Senator Ndume and some top officials of the Department of Security Services in Borno state was received by President Jonathan at about 11:05am where the president sympathized with him and the entire displaced people of Gwoza.

According to a very reliable source who witnessed the meeting at the Villa, “the president who had personally directed that the people of Gwoza and particularly the Emir must be rescued at all cost, was full of empathy when he received the young Emir who had just succeeded his later father that was killed by the Boko Haram on the 30th of May this year.

The President assured the Emir that efforts are at full gear to ensure that Gwoza is reclaimed and the people are assisted to return back to their homes. He also lamented the psychological trauma the Emir may have gone through while hiding out in the mountains with his people for days. The president also commended the Emir for choosing to remain with his people in the period of such difficulty. He then reassured him that in no distant time, he would be returning back to seat on his throne”, said the source.

His Royal Highness Idrisa Timta had in a brief response pleaded with the president to help his people out of their present plights by ensuring the Boko Haram were flushed out of his domain once and for all”.
