Yobe Govt expands coverage of primary healthcare services

Gov. Ibrahim Gaidam of Yobe on Tuesday said that the state has widen the coverage of Primary Healthcare activities and outreach immunisation sessions.
Gaidam made this known through his Deputy, Mr Abubakar Aliyu, who briefed the press in Damaturu.
“Through concerted efforts and collaborative drives, our state has continued to widen coverage of primary healthcare activities and outreach immunisation sessions to more children and women.
“We also ensure that all the undeserved, remote and hard to reach communities and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) are not left out.
“The state also worked relentlessly to ensure provision of at least one standard functional Primary Health Care facility per word in the state,” he said.
Gaidam explained that all these and more were worked out to achieve the objectives contained in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by the state to strengthen primary healthcare with Bill and Melinda Gates and Dangote Foundations.
The representative of Bill and Melinda Gates and Dangote Foundations, Dr Musa Matazu, stated that dedication and exemplary leadership of deputy governor who was also the state Task Force chairman.
Matazu said that all the successes recorded in the area of Primary Healthcare activities and outreach immunisation was because Aliyu was on ground to drive it.
On his part, Alhaji Adamu Baffale, the representative of World Health Organisation (WHO), also expressed his gratitude for the support by the state government.
