The Governorship candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party, PRP,  in Benue, Revd Frederick Lanshims Ikyaan has stated that he has a project to redeem Benue from retrogression and it’s too priceless to be exchanged for a token.

Revd Ikyaan stated this at a Press Conference on Sunday evening, in reaction to rumours making the round that he has collected money to step down on his ambition to lead the state.

“It has come to our attention that desperate politicians and hatchet men with no conscience, full of fear and the overwhelming acceptance of our message of truth by the Benue people, have resorted to desperate antics of falsehood and mudslinging against my person and our party.

“There is no iota of truth in the rumours being peddled that I have collected money to step down for candidates of other political parties. The project of redeeming the people of Benue State is too priceless to be exchanged for any amount of money.

“We invite you all to remain unwavering in your support and ensure that you vote, protect and make sure that it counts towards our victory,” he said.

The PRP gubernatorial candidate said the rumours are meant to cause disaffection as well as distract the electorates from voting the party.

He insisted that he has not gone in alliance with any candidate or political party as peddled saying such things only exists in the imaginations of some people who are out for mischief making.

Ikyaan reassured the Benue people that when elected, the PRP government will prioritize welfare of people, critical infrastructure, security, wealth creation, education and other key areas that will prosper the people and Benue at large.

He also promised that his government will be founded on the principles of transparency,  accountability, citizens  engagement as well as technology and innovation.

Ikyaan called on his supporters and the teeming Benue people to disregard such but turn out enmasse to vote for PRP on Saturday so as to liberate the state.

The PRP also took a swipe at both the PDP and APC in the State saying with the confidence the Benue people have reposed in him, “both the PDP and APC put together will submit to us come March 9.”
