Uba Sani Picks SDP Kaduna Central Senatorial Ticket
“We Are Not Aware of Uba Sani’s Membership of SDP”…Party Leaders Insist

Against rumours of the purported defection of one of the senior aides of Governor Nasir Ahmed el-Rufai from the APC to the Social Democratic Party, SDP following his inability to secure the Senatorial ticket of his party, leaders of the SDP have denied such.
Mallam Uba Sani, Special Adviser to Gov. Nasir el-Rufai who was said to have been eyeing the Kaduna Central Senatorial District ticket which is being held by Comrade Shehu also of the APC reportedly lost out following the endorsement and return of Senator Shehu Sani by the party leadership at the National level.
Shehu Sani’s return followed an automatic ticket granted him by the presidency in a deal secured by the Human Rights Activist and this, according to 247ureports sources, has soured Uba Sani’s relationship with the party who described the endorsement of Senator Shehu Sani as a betrayal of the loyalty and contributions of Uba Sani to the APC especially in the build up to the local government elections which saw the party sweeping the polls.
Speaking with the State chairman of the SDP in Kaduna at the party’s Secretariat on Friday, Mallam Adamu Idris denied any knowledge of the Governor’s Special Adviser on Political Matters defection to the SDP.
“I am not aware of any defection of Uba Sani to the SDP”, Idris stated.
“There are photographs of Uba Sani with the SDP logo trending on the social media but, to the best of my knowledge, I am not aware of his membership of our great party”, he stressed.
However, some stakeholders of the party have continued to express their concerns with the story of the defection of Uba Sani to the SDP following what they term as his role in the role in the local government elections and as such, vowed to work against his candidacy if the SDP decides to give him the ticket.
“How can Uba Sani who master-minded the tampering of votes in the last LGA elections in which many of our aspirants lost out to now say, he wants to join the SDP? He is a suspect and a mole working with the APC to destabilize our great party, the SDP”, Simon James stated.
It must also be recalled that, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has announced the withdrawal of all automatic tickets granted some Senators including some aspirants on the platform of the party.
Oshiomhole stated this while speaking with reporters on Friday in Abuja. If this sails through, it therefore means that Uba Sani and many others who became aggrieved with the granting of automatic tickets to some aspirants, may have a sigh of relief and remain in the APC to slug it out.
