The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a white garment prophet for allegedly beheading a female member of his church who was also his secret lover, for rituals at Ewekoro Local government area of the state.

The suspect, Tobiloba Ipeisin, of Holy Gathering Christian Evangelical Church of God, Ewekoro, allegedly severed the head and hands of his church member identified as Raliat Sanni, a divorced mother of five last month and buried the corpse near the church.

The suspect and his accomplice, Daniel Shopeju, it was learnt, confessed to the police that they beheaded the woman and severed her head and two hands for ritual purposes.

The suspect who is also an accounting and commerce teacher in a secondary school in the area confessed that his accomplice and members of his cult killed the woman for his initiation into their cult group.

Residents of Elebute, Wasinmi community Ewekoro area came out enmass when the state Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu led journalists to the uncompleted church located in the inner part of the settlement where the heinous act was committed.

Parading the suspect at the crime scene, the police boss said the command was able to arrest the suspect and his accomplice, after it received a report of a missing person at the divisional headquarters in Ewekoro lodged by one Adebola Saheed.

Saheed had reported that his younger sister, Raliat Sanni left home since March 21 and was yet to return.

The police boss said his men were able to arrest the suspects through painstaking intelligence gathering.

Angry residents of the community later ransacked the uncompleted church and pulled it down.

A resident of Ewekoro, Ahmed Adegboye who spoke with newsmen appealed to the government to prosecute the suspects and ensure justice for the family.
