The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National New Media Group (PDP-NNMG) has accused some people in the All Progressives Congress (APC) government of President Muhammadu Buhari of sharing $17 million out of the $20 million paid as ransom for the release of the abducted Dapchi school girls.

Speaking through its Acting National Publicity Secretary,  Edoko Wilson Edoko, the PDP-NNMG challenged the federal government to tell Nigerians why its security agents allowed the abduction of the Dapchi girls only to take $20 million public fund as ransom for the girls’ release.

The PDP-NNMC,  an independent group of PDP social media influencers said it had it on good authority that a faction of Boko Haram,  led by Abu Musab al-Barnawi, got $3million from the $20 million ransom while the remaining $17 million went into private pockets.

The PDP-NNMG disclosed that Abu Mus’ab al-Barnawi was the first surviving son of the founder of Boko Haram, Mohammed Yusuf and was former ISIS-backed leader of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant’s (ISIL) branch in West Africa, formerly known as Boko Haram. He was the spokesperson for Boko Haram before it pledged allegiance to ISIL.

“It was this same Abu Musab al-Barnawi that the APC federal government willingly allowed to abduct the 110 girls in Dapchi and accorded free access to return the girls with fanfare,” the PDP-NNMG.

The group also accused the APC of lack of human feelings, saying only a party of people with lack of respect for human lives will go about praising a President under whom 110 girls were abducted and five died in captivity with one yet to be released.

It asked: “Is the APC praising President Buhari for the death of those five innocent girls and the one still in Boko Haram captivity?”

The PDP group demanded from the federal government why military checkpoints were removed in Dapchi and other surrounding towns to give the insurgents unhindered access to Dapchi to carry out the abduction.

It also demanded full account of the $20 million allegedly paid as ransom, asking that those who took part in the payment of the ransom must be paid.
