Convener of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Reform Group, Mr Ariyo-Dare Atoye, has said that the PDP won the September 28, 2016 Edo governorship election in Edo Central Senatorial District, where former Chairman of the party’s Board of Trustees, Chief Tony Anenih, comes from.
Atoye said that the tabulated results of the election showed that the PDP won in four out of the five local government areas in Edo Central Senatorial District.
This, according to him, was contrary to the reported claim by Edo state governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, that his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), won two local government areas in the district.
He said that the entire public should ignore Oshiomhole’s “mischievous claim”, saying “the governor was only playing the devil’s advocate and that to me was reckless.”
