The Cross River State All Progressives Congress members have called on the Federal Government and the National Leadership of the party not to listen to the antics of the governor of Cross River State, Prof. Ben Ayade on litigation at the Supreme Court.

The governor, who is facing a perjury case filed by Mr. Joe Agi, SAN of the Peoples Democratic Party at the Supreme Court had alleged political persecution against him by his party, PDP because of his cordial relationship with the All Progressives Congress.

But the governor’s allegations have been refuted by the Acting Chairman of the Cross River State of APC, John Ochala. Ochala in a statement issued in Abuja on Friday, as he stated that the governor had rather persecuted APC members in the State.

He challenged the governor to show evidence of cordial relationship with the party either at the state or national level.

According to him, rather that assist the APC or its members in the state, the governor had clamped down on them.

He gave as examples, that the state government led by Governor Ayade recently sealed an FM Station belonging to Prince Goddy Agaba without any notice or reason in Calabar.

Also that the state governor had consistently hounded prominent members of the APC that include Prince Goddy Agba, Venatius Ikem and Paul Adah.

Of more important to the state APC was the fact that the governor denied the National Chairman of APC, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun and other national leaders of the party access to use the Calabar Stadium to receive Chief Clement Ebiri, Sen. Victor Ndoma-Egba, Sen. Bassey Otu and others when they defected to the APC.

The party state chairman said, “That the Cross River State government did everything  in its powers to sabotage the ceremony including false broadcast on the state owned Cross River Broadcasting Corporation”.

Speaking that the governor should account for the misgovernance in the state, he said, “The national leadership of the party and functionaries of the federal government should be mindful of his antics against his case coming up on December 9 at the Supreme Court.
