The Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano has given the 177 communities in the state‎a total windfall of N3.54bn which will ensure that each town will benefit by choosing a choice project worth N20million to be executed before the end of December 2016.

Governor Obiano made the announcement on Monday while speaking at Omasi-Uno, in Ayamelum Local Government Area ‎during the commissioning of a Water Project executed by the Caring Family Enhancement Initiative (CAFE), an NGO run by his wife.

Said Obiano” I want to call on our community leaders, Igwes President Generals and leaders of thought to put heads together and agree on any project worth N20million to be constructed in their towns and bring it to the attention of the governor as what was agreed by consensus‎ for the benefit of the town. I assure you that we are ready and the money is already earmarked for the project. As soon as you get back to us, we will do the necessary things and mobilize to site.”

Governor Obiano further observed that Omasi-Uno community had been neglected for over 25 years ‎but is now getting a relief following the intervention of CAFE which stepped in to check the incident of high child mortality rate in the area by rehabilitating and expanding the Omasi-Uno Water Scheme to the delight of the people and encouragement of the government.

The governor promised that the road leading to the community would also be rehabilitated to enable the farmers to transport their products. He informed the people that the government is expanding the rural electrification in Ayamelum which would be completed in six months, and called on them to protect the projects.
