Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano state has commended the out-going Commissioner of Police in the state, Alhaji Muhammad Musa Katsina for his doggedness in maintaining law and order.

He said Alhaji Katsina, who was recently promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police, showed exceptional dedication in tackling insurgency and countering the activities of suspected terrorists in the state, during a stay in Kano.

The governor, who spoke while receiving the out-going Commissioner who paid him a farewell visit, was also happy that Alhaji Katsina was able to initiate a blueprint for tackling kidnapping, which he described as very successful.

“I am pleased to say that you came, you saw and you conquered because you worked very hard to check the activities of insurgents and criminals in the state”, the governor stated.

Governor Ganduje asserted that the state would not forget the out-going CP for his unrelenting efforts to curb cattle rustling, drug trafficking and other vices, pointing out that “I decided to nickname him Field Marshall in view of his exploits at Falgore forest”.

He therefore, urged the in-coming Commissioner of Police to continue form where his predecessor left, saying it is encouraging to know that most of the senior Police officers that assisted his predecessor to succeed are still working in the state Police Command.

In his remarks, earlier, Alhaji Muhammad Musa Katsina said the encouragement he received from the governor enabled him to achieve. “Never have I received such felicitation and goodwill in the past 30 years of my career, as I received from the government and people of Kano state” he stated.

He hoped other state governors will emulate Governor Ganduje, to enable the Police render efficient services to Nigerians living in their respective states.
