With every sense of humility, the Rescue Mission Government in the State wishes to inform the good people of the State that their governor, His Excellency, Owelle Rochas Anayo Okorocha has embarked on a very brief vacation abroad to enable him get some rest, and needed, following the Candid advice given by senior government functionaries to that effect.
The governor travelled through the Imo Airport to Abuja on Friday, January 15, 2015 from where he left for abroad.
It is a common knowledge that the governor had worked tirelessly for a very long time without giving himself any moment of rest, to the extent that even during the last Christmas when most people had thought he would travel to relax the nerves as a human being, he stayed and also worked assiduously throughout that period in the overall interest of the state.
And it was against the backdrop of that development, that Senior government officials mounted reasonable pressure on him to travel this time to enable him rest. Even at that, the governor was unwillingly to have the trip because he needed to see some of the Prime projects including the Orji Road fly-over get to completion stage before leaving. Hence, the trip was several times shifted. He had to cancel the trip the first day he would have travelled to receive the National leaders of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, led by its President, Comrade Ayuba Wahab.
The trip was shifted again to enable him swear-in the Commissioners, the Local Government Transition Committee Chairmen, and the Economic Adviser. He also stayed back for the Armed forces Remembrance Day event, and then left for the airport from the Heroes’ Square after laying the wreath for the unknown Soldier.
His Excellency will soon be back to Continue his good works for the State. And our prayer is that the good Lord shall grant him journey mercy, thro and fro. And he shall be back to meet Imo people in good health.
The governor had also asked Imo people to Continue in their fervent prayers for him and for the Rescue Mission Government so that together we can build Imo State of our Collective dream.
