Drama ensued on Thursday at the Federal Ministry of Interior as a director in the ministry openly disagreed with the Chief of Staff of the new minister Abdulrahman Dambazau over tge choice of where the ministry’s senior staff and directors should seat.
Loading ...Dambazau’s Chief of staff had asked the government senior workers to take a back seat against what used to be whenever the past ministers was to have a meeting or receive important visitors.
Some of the directors who were not satisfy with the way they were being treated by the new leadership of the ministry openly and aggressively told the Chief of Staff to take things easy on them by give them the respect they deserve.
The Chief of Staff, who is also a retired General were said to have embarrassed some of the directors and Journalists last week when the minister resumed office.
One of the directors who could not hold the embarrassment said: “The Chief of Staff is going beyond his limit. How can the Chief of Staff be asking us (Directors) to seat at the back? This is not the kind of change we want here. They should learn to respect career officers.”
Meanwhile, there are insinuations making the rounds that the
delay in the Minister’s resumption and the unethical behaviour of his Chief of Staff may not be unconnected
with the fact that he was not pleased with the portfolio given to him.
