A Renown Imo born-Prophet, Godfrey Gbujie has called on the federal government to suspend the enforcement of the Oct.31 deadline for obtaining of Bank Verification Number (BVN) in Nigeria.

Gbujie who made the call in a briefing with journalists in Owerri, said the policy should rather be made optional for interested account holders in various banks in Nigeria.
According to Gbujie, “bank verification number is the long biblically foretold mark of the beast number in Rev.13: 17 -18 which God maintained that anybody with such number must end up in the lake of fire.’’

He noted that Nigerians were wrongfully forced into adopting the BVN policy by some satanic influences which according to him must be resisted.

Gbujie, a Pentecostal Anglican and chief National Intercessor at Obi Ekpere Ndigbo, Enugu state urged President Buhari to constitute a team of inquiry to truly ascertain the origin and intention of those who masterminded the BVN policy.

“Introduction of BVN came from the west with the claim that it would check bank fraud, but that is not really the main aim of the policy because bank fraud is still being recorded in countries where BVN is enforced.

“Beyond an economic policy, BVN has negative spiritual undertone which must be jettison by any heaven bound creature’’, he said.

Responding to questions, Gbujie noted with regrets that late awareness on the danger of BVN to Nigerians ought to have been a concern by Christian leaders before the Oct.31 deadline.

“It is sad that I am solely embarking on this which ought to be the concern of the entire leadership of the body of Christian and Muslims, both rather than tackle this problem, the leaders were busy following political development’, he said.

Gbujie explained that he consulted the chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria in the South-East and other religious and political leaders before making public his rejection of the BVN policy and appealed to the media to help spread the message.
