Onu believed that Buhari administration will do what is due to all party of the country, saying, APC administration is for all.

Speaking when he received an interim 5-man planning committee of the Eze Ndigbo for World Igbo Conference, on Monday in Abuja, the APC chieftain said Buhari administration is committed to ensure that new Nigeria will emerged.

“We as igbos are the only major ethnic group that is not indigenous to any other countries in the world, so you look at ethnic groups that are indigenous in Nigeria, what that means is that outside Nigeria there is no other country for the igbos. For other major ethnic groups this is not the case.”

He called on the Ohanze ndigbo to ensure that igbo embrace the APC and support Buhari administration, adding that during the elections, the igbos in the 19 states overwhelmingly supported the APC which made the victory of APC possible.

Onu said: “Ohaneze must be commended for what its doing as regards the welfare of igbos throughout the country and beyond. We have igbos everywhere, there is no town in Nigeria where there is no igbos. In Nigeria and across the world there is no place where we don’t have igbo residence throughout the world and the igbos occupy a very important position in Nigeria.

While briefing Dr. Onu on how far the committee has gone, chairman of the interim planning committee World Igbo Conference, Chief Ben Aranusi, said for a long time igbos seems not to know it place in the country any longer, hence there is need to seat down and talk among themselves.

“For a long time, igbos, we seems not to know our place in Nigeria and based on that and based on calls from our brothers and sisters from all over the world, we resolved that there is need for us to seat and talk to ourselves.

“In the sixties, igbos were leaders in academia, in commerce, in the military and politically up to seventies but now we are not even crying about marginalisation, what the igbo race look like now is not like Internally Displaced People, in fact igbos are now like Internally Displaced Race.

“This Ohanese caretaker is interested is in the welfare of igbo man and that is why we are here to inform you about this conference because the igbo race can not continue like this. This body is ready to fight for the right of any igbo man at any level.

“We have a new administration and we are looking at 2019, where are we in Nigeria politics? Where are we in Academia, in commerce, igbo man seems to be nowhere, and we must chat a course and have a direction.

“The igbos must be ready from 2019 to 2023.
