At least 75 people were on Tuesday night Killed by undetonated Improvised Explosive Devise (IED) found by a local vigilante member in the bush path of Mungonu local government area of Borno state.
Loading ...It would be recalled that that the Boko haram terrorists had overran the Army Barracks in Mungono and subsequently took control of the area before there were chased out by the military some months back.
The vigilante member who also refered to as Civilian JTF has mistaken the the bag full of explosives for scraped metals and and had taken bag back into the town before it exploded and killed 75people while many others sustained injury, Ismail Adamu an eye witness who narrowly escaped death said.
“the bag of explosive was brought by a civilian JTF members into Monguno town where people gathered to take a looks at it. As they were busy fiddling with the content of the bag, the bombs went off with a massive blast that killed about 75 people and injured many others” Adamu said.
Adamu added that “It was really a very sad incident that affected many families. Most of those affected are young men and a few number of females”.
