The new governor of Rivers State, Mr. Nyesom Wike has acted to reopen the Rivers State legislative arm of the government today [June 1, 2015]. This was following its closure by the previous administration for a period of over one year.
The previous administration – for fear of impeachment – had caused the shutdown of the Rivers State House of Assembly.
Governor Wike also swore in the new Chief Judge of the State in the person of Justice Daisy Okocha. The courts had also been shutdown by the activities of the previous administration.
