Bandits Behead Over 100 Cows in Adamawa

Over one hundred heads of cattle and some rams were on Tuesday carted
away by cattle rustlers at a farm belonging to former secretary to the
Adamawa State Government Chief Kobis Ari Thimnu (Katuka Adamawa).

Reports from Guyuk has it that the cattle rustlers killed one of the
herdsmen and injuring the second man before tying him with a rope.

It was learnt that by the time people got to know about the incident,
the rustlers had disappeared even though attempts are being made to
recover them.

According to an official of the local government information
department, a report to that effect has been lodged with the police
who are investigating the matter.

Contacted on phone, Chief Kobis Ari Thimnu (Katuka Adamawa) said he
was away in Abuja but said it happened – adding that it
was part of life.

In his remarks, Police command spokesman DSP Abubakar Othman confirmed
the story but said figures available to them was 36 heads of cattle.
