The use of executive to describe state Governors has been described as
wrong and unconstitutional by the governor of Adamawa State.

According to Governor James Bala Nggilari of Adamawa State at a
meeting with media chiefs and journalists at the Government House Yola
Thursday evening, it is not correct to say ‘Executive Governor’ .

Says Ngillari, “It is not correct to say executive Governor, I
repeatedly said it before and will always say it that there is nothing
like Executive Governor”.

The constitution according to the Governor creates the office of the
Governor of a state and not Executive Governor of a state.

Governor Ngillari also landed the support and co-operation of the
media to his administration and urged them to sustain the tempo and
criticize where necessary in order to make him sit up.

According to the Adamawa State Governor, leaders that insist on
hearing only positive things about themselves only end up being
deceived by sycophants.

“A leader who always want to hear positive things about himself would
only be deluding himself”, he stressed.

Leaders he continued, should be able to accept genuine and honest
criticism and thereby seek advise on the way forward.

His administration he said was only five months old and was therefore
willing to learn adding that his administration was committed to open
door policy.

“Because I am willing to learn, I want people to correct me and that
is why I have the ability to receive a lot of bashing from
politicians”, he noted.

Barrister Ngillari also spoke about the cash crunch facing his
administration and the nation at large and urged the media to
enlighten the public on the need to understand.

This nation he pointed out has a lot of enemies with local
collaborators and so must make some they do not succeed in taking the
nation to Kigali.
