The senatorial candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, for Orlu Senatorial District of Imo State, Barr. Mrs. Eudora Igwe is dead. She died Monday afternoon.
According to information available to 247ureports.com, Igwe, a member of the Imo State House of Assembly, was representing Ideato North Federal Constituency before her death.
She was said to have died at a private hospital, in Owerri on Monday where she received emergency attention after reportedly collapsing at her home in Egbeada Housing Estate, Owerri.
The late APGA senatorial candidate emerged as a consensus candidate because of her heavy support for the party. This was despite the pressure mounted on the state party executives to drop her for some of the defecting senatorial aspirants from others pasrties.
Meanwhile, the state executive committee of the party has expelled the factional governorship aspirant of the party, Mr. Okey Eze.
Eze was expelled alongside three others namely: SonnyNwadiaro, Eugine Nzeme and Engr. Orjiwuba, for their anti- party activities and trying to bring the image of the party to the mud.
Briefing journalists, the factional chairman of the party, Mr. Peter Ezeobi said the party’s action was hinged on Article 21(1)(b), adding that the party has no faction
Reacting, Eze described the action as a speculation and a poorly managed rumour, saying such an action cannot stand
