The Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has maintained his determination to transform the 637 communities in the State into mini cities by replicating developmental projects obtainable in the urban areas at the rural communities.

Owelle Okorocha said this during a meeting with the Traditional Rulers from Owerri Zone at the Government House, Owerri recently.

The Governor explained that the Community Government Council (CGC) was created to decentralize governance and programmes to the people at the grass-root to foster development, pointing out that in the near future, the development of the CGC will improve the State economy as well as reduce rural-urban migration.

He therefore directed the Royal Fathers to design their respective communities to reflect needed developmental projects with their sites and submit for immediate implementation.

Governor Okorocha who noted that the highest achievement of his administration was freedom of the people from evil leadership advised Imo people not to be deceived by the zoning system but to elect people who have conscience and of credible track record to represent them at all political positions warning that any mistake in the election will return the State to bondage.
