A local vigilante group in Aba, Abia state has foiled a robbery attempt at No. 14 Omenazu Street in the commercial city.

 

247ureports.com gathered that the robbers numbering over four invaded the area and was about robbing the residents when the vigilante group who were alerted to the situation overpowered them and arrested one.

 

The arrested member of the gang whose name could not be gotten as at the time of filing this report was later handed over to the Abayi Police Division.

 

In a related development, unidentified gunmen in Aba South council area broke into a popular computer shop at Azikiwe road, carting away laptops and an undisclosed amount of cash.

A source told our correspondent that the robbers tied up the security man on night duty before gaining entrance into the shop.

 

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Abia State Police Command, Geoffrey Ogbonna, could not be reached for comments, but a senior police officer confirmed the incident
