The Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, His Lordship Most Rev. Dr. Paulinus Ezeokafor has raised an alarm over the theft of Reverend Sisters’ attires in Sabongari Kano by unidentified persons and called for stringent vigilance from the general public.
Bishop Ezeokafor, who stated this while addressing newsmen at the Retreat Centre, Okpuno, Awka South Council Area, described the action by the unscrupulous elements as abominable, atrocious, blasphemy and lack of regard for God and His subjects.
He expressed dismay over the unholy act and said if not for nefarious purposes what would the burglars do with the Reverend Sisters’ gowns and scarf noting that they did it either to smear the Church or to use it to carry out ungodly activities.
The visibly angry Catholic Prelate, wondered why some people would derived joy in hurting their fellow human beings, noting that whosoever that tried to spite the name of God would definitely be disappointed at the end of the day and urged Nigerians to join the Church in their onerous fight against impersonators and evil – doers.
Meanwhile, the Bishop has congratulated Anambra state on her 23rd birthday celebration saying that the state had not done badly considering the myriad of political crises that had be-deviled the state in the past and expressed the hope that with the level of commitment and successes recorded so far by the past and present administration, and with its sustainability the State can only move from strength to strength.
The cleric therefore, called on Ndi Anambra State to continue to pray and as well support the current government noting that without their prayers and supports the state would be unable to achieve its goal and as well denied the people of their chances of receiving the democracy dividends from the government.
