At the town of Assakio, Sarauniya Dogara told the Governor that over 63 Alagos were killed. He said the palace of Assakio was attacked and burnt – this was following the government’s earlier financial intervention to rebuild the palace after the first communal clash resulted in the destruction of the palace.

Responding, the Governor pledged to bring justice to the situation and to help the affected families bare their loses. He also revealed to the grieving communities that the faceless financiers of the culprits have been unmasked – that five have already been prosecuted.
