Information available to 247ureports.com obtained through a source within the Nasarawa State government house indicates that the impeachment saga unfolding in Nasarawa State may have taken another unexpected turn. As gathered, the Chief Judge of Nasarawa State, Justice Dikko who was instructed by the State Assembly to constitute a 7-person panel to examine the impeachment grounds – may have gone into hiding.

The Chief Judge, prior to the issuance of the instruction by the members of the State Assembly, was reported to be visible and accessible at his office or through the telephone. However immediately following the instruction by the State legislators along with a list of suggested names handed to the Chief Judge by the legislators to be included in the 7-person panel, the Chief Judge has since withdrawn himself out of public sight and has changed his contact telephone numbers.

According to the government house source, “Nobody knows the Chief Judge’s whereabouts “.

It was gathered prior to going out of sight, the Chief Judge had been sympathetic to the plight of the State Governor, Malam Tanko Al Makura – and was unhappy with the impeachment process. Our source pointed that Governor Al Makura had rested his last hopes of surviving the impeachment saga on the shoulders of the Chief Judge. “The Governor’s last hope was on the Chief Judge“.

But the Governor’s sudden change of telephone numbers appears unsettling for the Governor’s people who believed the Chief Judge would halt the impeachment from continuing beyond his office. Some within the Government House suspect that he might has been reached by the opposition party.
