President Goodluck Jonathan, his Deputy Namadi Sambo and the Senate President, David Mark on Saturday stormed Ado Ekiti, the capital city of Ekiti State to lend support to PDP’s Governorship candidate for June 21 gubernatorial election in the state, Ayo Fayose.

However, the mega rally which is coming about two weeks after that of the incumbent Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, was majorly populated by PDP supporters from neighbouring states.

The crowd which flooded the Kayode Oluyemi Stadium venue of the mega rally were mostly from Osun, Oyo and Ondo States, this development only lends credence to the claims of the ruling party which claimed that those at rally were ‘imported’ from outside the state.

On close examination, most of the supporters wore tribal marks which are features of people form other states, as wearing tribal marks has become a thing of the past in Ekiti State.

When asked about the location of some landmarks in the state capital, the supporters who trooped into the stadium in hundreds of various vehicles gave themselves away when they claimed ignorance ot these places.

President Goodluck Jonathan, his Deputy, Namadi Sambo and the Senate President David Mark all appealed to the people of the state to vote in Ayo Fayose who was impeached by the state House Of Assembly on October 16, 2006, a day after he stole away from the Government House in the boot of a car.

The National Chairman of the Party, Ibrahim Muazu also pleaded for support for the former governor.

A drama ensued at the rally when Fayose who spoke shortly before President Jonathan asked the crowd tonshow their voters cards, with the crowd responding with a sea of white cards which on close examination showed different sorts of card board papers cut to size to look like the real voters cards meant for election later in the month.

A journalist who pointed all these flaws to observers at the rally asked rhetorically, ” what is the meaning of  all these deceit. I thought they said Fayose is now a ” new improved product”, he asked in reference to the new tagged slapped on Fayose by the PDP leaders who spoke earlier at the rally.
