The Women Arise for Change Initiative, WACI in collaboration with The Campaign for Democracy, CD on has joined other well-meaning Nigerians and the international community in protest over the abduction of Chibok school girls, calling on members of the Boko Haram sect to effect immediate release of the students.
Some of their placards reads; Chibok abduction assault to humanity, An assault on One woman is an assault to all women!, Shekua! Find goods to sell not our girls, CD says No to injustice, Secure Nigeria and end Terror, Women arise against terror, Hunt down defilers of innocent girls and others.
Speaking while on the peaceful demonstration in the commercial city of Onitsha, CD and WACI, through their South- East co-coordinator, Dede Uzor A. Uzor said that they want the school girls to be released at once to avoid further immorality.
Uzor, condemned the activities of the Boko haram sects, charged Federal government to do everything possible in their power to release the girls adding that they know what to do in other rescue of the girls.
He called on the federal government to declare a state of emergency in the three troubled northern states of Borno, Yobe and Adamawa, also for the international community to exhibit their tactical prowess to rescue the girls from the grip of the insurgents.
Comrade Vincent Ezekwueme said that Boko Haram activities is barbaric, condemn some comments and actions made by some leaders in the north that those girls were not abducted adding that if they were not abducted, where are they?
 Another member, Comrade Chris Udenta regrets that those girls have gone into pains for more than four weeks, said that Shekua is an animal who said, he don’t want western education forgetting that all the instrument they used was as a result of western education.
Also speaking, a woman among the protesters, Comrade Augustine Mmaduako said that it is an abomination before God and Man adding that women are not happy about the way Boko haram took our girls, defiling and forcefully raping them. She console the abducted girls mother, advice them to look unto God and have patient and hope that everything is going to be alright.
