Despite the heavy presence of security operatives, the Enugu Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gathering where the presence of President Goodluck Jonathan is anticipated, has been overran by hooligans who beat up two party chieftains in the process.

The South-East Publicity Secretary of the party and master of ceremony of the rally, Ali Odefa, was reportedly dealt blows by 10 political thugs at rally on-going in Enugu.

The thugs, who were clad in T-shirts inscribed “Sullivan for Senate,” walked through the red carpet and mounted the podium where they doled out several punches to Odefa and tore his clothes in the process.
