We Are Ready For National CONFAB

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governors’ Forum and the Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha says the Party is gradually putting the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) into the minority at the Federal House of Representatives with APC members assuming the majority.

Owelle Okorocha said this while briefing newsmen on his return from APC Governors’ Forum held recently.

The Governor, who described the meeting as successful, noted that APC members have remained firm and resolved to maintain their stand in the Federal House of Representatives by not allowing them to be bought over by PDP. This is the first in the history of Nigeria that the opposition is in the majority at the Federal House of Representatives; it is a signal that 2015 is a year for APC.” He asserted.

He used the occasion to announce the commencement of APC membership registration and enjoined Imo people and the South-East at large to identify with the Party if a better Nigeria must be realized.

Commenting on the proposed National Conference, the Imo State Governor said it will give Nigerians the opportunity to discuss on issues bothering on national unity. He revealed that Imo State will have a mini-Confab to articulate its position, but maintained that Nigeria must remain an indivisible entity. “As the Igbos have paid so much for the unity of the country; and this is not negotiable.”

The Owelle Okorocha pointed out that there is nothing wrong with the entity, Nigeria; rather, the problem is in the management. He therefore called on Nigerians to seize the opportunity to renew friendships across the divide as the conference is a worthwhile event.

He also informed all of the Party’s readiness to participate in the centenary celebration of Nigeria coming up soon adding that it is worth celebrating Nigeria’s 100 years of existence.
