PDP’ll Oust OKorocha in 2015, Says Udenwa

The former governor of Imo State, Chief Achike Udenwa has declared that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) will reclaim the state from the grips of incumbent governor, Rochas Okorocha.

He spoke at a rally held in Owerri at the weekend to receive him, Senator Ifeanyi Araraume, Chief Mike Ahamba and Senator Chris Anyanwu as well as thousands of their supporters back to the PDP.
President Goodluck Jonathan, his deputy, Namadi Sambo, Senate President David Mark, his deputy, Ike Ekweremadu, chairman, Board of Trustees, Chief Tony Anenih, National Chairman, Mohammad Mua’zu, 18 governors of the PDP and others attended the rally.
Chief Udenwa assured the president that PDP would sack Okorocha from Government House in Owerri.
‘Our mission now is to re-rescue Imo State. Rest assured that come 2015, we will sack Rochas Okorocha,’ he assured.
In his remarks, Chief Mike Ahamba accused Okorocha of being hell-bent on destroying the state.
Hear him:” What you have now in Douglas House is nothing but a determined termite that wants to ruin our State.”
Also speaking, a member of the Board of Trustees of the party, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu urged the federal government to upgrade federal institutions in the state.
He listed the institutions to include Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education, Federal University of Technology, Owerri; Federal Medical Centre, Owerri; and expedite work at the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport.
The national Chairman, Alhaji Adamu Mua’zu noted that PDP lost the 2011 governorship poll in Imo State because of political miscalculation and internal wrangling.
He assured that the party would re-capture the state in 2015.
In his speech, President Goodluck Jonathan observed that the return of Chief Udenwa and other political heavyweights to the PDP shows that the party has regained Imo State.
He disclosed that doors of the party were still open to receive others who are still outside.
The president described the PDP as the most stable having changed its ideology, logo and symbol since formation in 1998.
Jonathan also stated that the party believes in inclusiveness, pointing out that what happens to the PDP not only affects Nigeria but also other countries.
 The ex-governor of Imo State, Chief Ikedi Ohakim in a vote of thanks, Ikedi Ohakim assured that the accident that happened in 2011 that saw the party losing the governorship diadem would not repeat itself in 2015.
