Exactly on 9th September, 2013 my appointment as the National Publicity Secretary of the New PDP was announced to Nigerians. Working under the direction of the great New PDP leadership, I did my best not only to portray my party in the best of the light but also to expose PDP under the leadership of Alhaji Bamanga Tukur as not only a fraud but also anti-democracy.

It is no longer news that after all the efforts to make Bamanga Tukur and his cohorts to see reasons to allow PDP to toe the path of democracy and honour as envisaged by the founding fathers of PDP proved abortive, New PDP on November 26 merged with the All progressives Congress (APC). With this new reality, my office as the National Publicity Secretary of nPDP ceased automatically.

However, the struggle to emancipate Nigeria and free her from charlatans and the shackles of the undemocratic elements that are currently impoverishing and misgoverning the country continues. Effective from today 12th December, 2013, I will be contributing my quota to that struggle in my new capacity as Senior Special Aide on Media and Public Affairs to the Office of the Rivers State APC Chairman, Dr. Davies Ibiamu Ikanya, a one-time Commissioner for Special Duties in Rivers State. Working together with Dr. Ikanya and the rest of the APC leadership in Rivers State, I will do my best to give the party the strong voice it needs to survive the evil manipulation of some misguided elements in the state and to retain the governorship seat come 2015. Henceforth, I will be addressing Nigerians from my Port Harcourt base instead of Abuja as used to be the case.

APPRECIATION

I wish to sincerely thank all those who allowed God to use them to enable me succeed as the National Publicity Secretary of New PDP. Prayers, calls and advice from a great number of well meaning Nigerians both within and outside the country served to motivate me to go the extra mile in the discharge of my duties. To them all I say thank you.

The G7 Governors namely, Babangida Aliyu (Niger), Rabiu Kwankwaso (Kano), Sule Lamido (Jigawa), Aliyu Wamakko (Sokoto), Murtala Nyako (Adamawa), Abdulfatah Ahmed (Kwara) and Rotimi Amaechi (Rivers) that saw to my appointment and who allowed me to perform my duties without any hindrance, interference or monitoring need to be congratulated and commended. These great visionaries should bear in mind that at any time my services in any form are needed, I will be eager and happy to oblige them.

To Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje, erstwhile National Chairman of NPDP, an unassuming, forthright and fearless leader who was on my neck on daily basis to ensure that I did not derail in any way, I say ‘thank you, Sir’. I also wholeheartedly thank His Excellency, Prince Olugunsoye Oyinlola, a brave warrior and a misunderstood democrat with whom I will like to work any day and any time. The visionless PDP leaders thought they could undo and mess up your political career but only succeeded to exposed their ignorance of what leadership is all about when they missed the opportunity God presented through you to them to restore sanity to the party. But don’t worry, Sir; the future belongs to great minds like you. To gentleman Dr. Sam Sam Jaja and other members of the NPDP National Working Committee of nPDP, it was great working with you all.

It may sound unbelievable, but the truth is that I owe my modest achievements as NPDP National Publicity Secretary to my uncle, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur. If not for his ineptitude in handling of the affairs of PDP, Nigerians might not have known anything about me. I am sad, though, of how he and his confused NWC have systematically destroyed a once great party.

Finally, I wonder if there would have been any Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze if not for the PDP Correspondents Chapel led by the indefatigable Ifoh Obiorah, Editors of most of the Nigerian newspapers, the electronic media particularly the BBC and those that are based in Abuja, Lagos, Port Harcourt and most parts of the Northern Nigeria and the great online media that unconditionally gave me a voice. I am indebted to you all and I plead that the struggle to free our country from short-sighted leadership has just began!

To Port Harcourt, I return and working with the Correspondents’ Chapel, the great Port Harcourt-based tabloids and of course, the electronic media is something that gives me special joy and I am very hopefully that we will surely jointly make Rivers the dream state of our dear country. I sincerely plead for the support of all and sundry to make us succeed in this onerous task!

God bless you all.

Long Life APC!

Long Life Rivers State!!
