Senator Abdulaziz Usman Tarabu, the current serving senator representing the North-East Senatorial zone escaped lynching at a Peoples Democratic Party [PDP] rally held at Biriniwa in Jigawa. According to information available to 247ureports.com, the Senator was attacked by members of his constituency as he attempted to address them.

The PDP Jigawa state chapter has been holding rallies in all the three Senatorial zones of the state ahead of the local government election to hold January 18, 2014.

At the PDP rally ground, the youths who had gathered for the rally broke-out in a spontaneous chants of “bamayi, bamaayi” which means “we are not in support of you” in Hausa language – as the senator attempted to climb to the Podium to address thousands of party supporters of the PDP.  The chants changed to ‘bamaso-bamaso’, meaning “we don’t like you” as the Senator continued to climb the podium. But as the chants grow louder and as the chants turned from mere chants to hauling of pure water sachets and other items – the Senator was forced to withdraw his address and shamelessly descend down the podium to return to his seat.

presented to their electorates by Governor Sule Lamido.

accommodating.
