The Attention of Ngige Campaign Organisation has been drawn to another index of continuous misinformation peddled by Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS) since Friday September 27 2013 which seeking to distort the facts surrounding the resounding, spontaneous ovation and appreciation given to Senator Dr Chris Nwabueze Ngige ,OON, Onwa, by the congregation at St Lawrence Anglican Church, Mbaukwu during the funeral service of Mrs Christiana Chizoba Ibezim, mother of the Anglican Bishop of Awka, Most Reverend Alexander Chibuzo Ibezim.

Whereas ABS has continued to misinform the unsuspecting public, that Senator Ngige stormed the church with scores of persons, waving brooms and seeking to disrupt the Church Service, nothing like that ever happened.

Contrary to the ABS misinformation, the true account of the Mbaukwu story is that Senator Ngige arrived the funeral service with his entourage, who in the spirit of solemnity of the occasion sought to assume their seats quietly, but were greeted by the spontaneous loud ovation and shrill shouts of ‘Onwaaaaaaaaaaaaa!’ by the congregation, dignataries and some members of the clergy.

Senator Ngige, being a devout Christian and Knight of St John in the Catholic Church, knows all the decorum required in a church service, signalled the congregation to calm down. Besides, The Governor of Anambra State had the floor to speak to the congregation.

He therefore continues to be humbled, but grateful at the massive show of love and approval given to him by Ndi Anambra of all shapes and shades, in all nooks and crannies at all occasions since 2003, by an equally grateful people for his stellar performance as governor, particularly in the case of Mbaukwu for the replacement of their erosion-devastated road and rickety bridges that adorned Mbaukwu before Ngige became governor in 2003.

It is also not true that the Archbishop on the Niger rebuked Senator Ngige. Rather, the archbishop said he was tendering an apology to the state governor on behalf of the frenzied congregation.

These events which took place in the last 72 hours are verifiable. The truth will not and cannot be suppressed. In journalism, as in broadcasting FACTS ARE SACRED!. We warn ABS that true to the sacredness of facts, distortions such as these illegal actions in  focus are actionable.

We thank the people fof Mbaukwu and Anambra State or their approval rating of Senator Ngige and their commitment to vote for his on November 16, 2013 and encourage them not to be cowed by the antics of ABS which is nearing a final end.
