A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) in Abia state, Barr. Friday Nwosu has called on well meaning residents of the state to support the governor to ensure the sustenance of the Youth Empowerment programme.
According to him, such remains the only way the programme could reach youths in all nooks and crannies of the 17 local councils of the state.
“Well meaning individuals should contribute their quota to the sustenance of the programme. It is in the interest of the state that the programme is sustained. It is a great step to reduce the high rate of poverty and unemployment in the country. Such programmes that have the capacity to make people self reliant must be encouraged .The governor cannot do it alone. He needs to be supported.”
In an interaction with our correspondent, Nwosu who spoke at his Jehovah is Great House, Mgboko Umuoria Community in Obingwa local council of the state, said he is full of gratitude to Gov. Theodore Orji for the programme.
“I commend Gov. Orji for this kind of intervention programme. It has brought relief to most of our teeming unemployed youths. We have a saying that when you build the youths, you build the nation. So, the programme is timely. I’m only calling on the beneficiaries to make good use of the gifts.”
Nwosu who is believed to be interested in the Abia governorship race in 201 also commended the governor for giant strides in the state.
