No fewer than 11 persons suspected to be commercial sex workers and drunkards were arrested by the Jigawa state Hisba command in sara market and shuwarin market this week – both markets are major markets in the state.

The arrest was disclosed by the Jigawa state Hisba commandant comrade Saidu Aliyu muhammed galamawa shortly after handing over the suspect to the police in Dutse police division today.

He stated that the entire suspects will be taken to court for justice. He explained that among the suspects, seven people were arrested in shuwarin market of kiyawa local government area – of which one person was handed over to government official. The remaining six people consisted of four women – suspected to be commercial sex workers and two men believed to be musicians and drunkards.

The four women were arrested in sara market inside a bar while the two men were arrested inside a room with a lady. 74 bottles of beer were discovered by the Hisba command along with 25 litter of Gogoro.

He explained that operation will continue into other parts of the state – including the state capital.  He however lamented the lack of transportation logistics for the Hisba command.
