NOYIF Organizes Christians And Muslims To Break Fast During Ramadan

About 100 Muslim & Christian young men last night attended the feast of Ramadan Break which was organized by Northern Youths Interactive Forum (NOYIF) in furtherance of the Muslim Ramadan and broke the Ramadan fast together as part of ongoing efforts by NOYIF to strengthen unity, peace and coexistence between both faiths in the North and the country at large.

There was excitement, joy and eagerness to meet each other when the Youths of both faith arrived premises of Horizon Hotel, Bompai where the feast was organized and proceeded to meet their hosts, and after exchanging pleasantries participated in ending the Ramadan fasting for the day as the organizers usher them and provided them with the meals.

The leader of the Christians, Mr. Jerry Yakaya of Badawa Quarters, said that they decided to join their Muslim Counterparts and break fast with their Muslim friends due to many reasons.
He said, “Christianity is not a violent religion and does not teach hate and restiveness, and it is in that regard that we are here. And we also commend the efforts of NOYIF in organizing such historic event, we are aware this is not the first time they are organizing such event, and we implore them to keep it up please”.

On his part, the Leader of the Muslim brethren Malam Mustapha Ibrahim of Kwalli Quarters also expressed his happiness over such great feast. He said “this kind of feast is a very welcome and commendable gestures put in place by NOYIF especially in this period of Ramadan where all Muslims were enjoined to imbibe the spirit of feeding the poor and embracing peace. I pray to Allah (SWT) to reward them abundantly and give them the courage to continue organizing such feast”.

Another Christian who goes by the name Ezinwa Michael from Sabongari Quarters said “Judging by the above, it’s clear who is spreading hatred, and who are the enemies of peace. God will surely deal with all enemies of peace, please keep it up NOYIF”.

The organizers of the Programme, Northern Youths Interactive Forum (NOYIF) also expressed their delight over the honour made by the guests of honouring the programme and also expressed their willingness of organizing more of it as this is not even their first time of organizing such event.

Haruna Abubakar Sulaiman is the Secretary General of the Forum and he said “NOYIF always organizes such event of hosting Muslims and Christians together whenever the need arises, so as to foster mutual understanding and spirit of togetherness among the adherents of these major religions (Islam and Christianity), and in this month alone, we organize three of such events including this one, in Kaduna and Abuja respectively before this one of Kano, beside organizing Peace Summits severally in Arewa House, Kaduna where we do invite Clergy Men and Imams to deliver lectures and also provide a platform for youths to intract and brainstorm with the aim of proferring solutions to incessant insecurity bedevilling the region and the country at large. We therefore call on the attendants to use what they gained here beyond the shores of this hall and beyond this Holy month of Muslims, and we are very happy as we successfuly hosted these vibrant youths”.

Bello Umar is the Chairman of NOYIF and he delivered the vote of thanks and prayed to God to take everybody back home safely and lastly remarked “we are here for peace and may God give Nigeria peace.”
