A two time Governor of Nasarawa state under the platform of the ruling People’s Democratic Party, Senator Abdullahi Adamu has challenged the state Governor,Umaru Tanko Al-Makura to redouble his effort to tackle the pervasive security challenges facing the state, The senator representing Nasarawa west and leader of the concerned group of the PDP gave the charge when he lead a team of PDP supporters from the three senatorial zones to commensurate with the Governor over the killings of security operatives at Alakyo Community of the state.
Adamu described peace as the most valuable commodity in every nation, Adding that the progress of every nation is hindered under the atmosphere of rancor and acrimony, Attesting that the concerned group of the PDP will continue to support the current administration in combating the security challenges that blanketed the state in its entirety ,according to him, “The Government and people of Nasarawa state will stand shoulder to shoulder with your regime on matters of security such as the one we now face”.
The former Governor aver that the support of all and sundry became necessary,”no Government anywhere in the world can succeed in securing and maintaining peace within its territory without the full and unqualified support of the people, we therefore urge our people to fully co-operate and support the state Government in this critical and urgent task of pulling our state back from the brink of a looming disaster that will do no one any good”.
advising the incumbent Government to take a drastic measure to bring the members of Eggon cultist group to book, saying the unabated crisis was a script writing by political lords Eggon militia group, calling on the state Governor to take a frantic steps by eliminating tribal politics from the sands of Nasarawa state, stating that no ethnic group in Nasarawa state has the monopoly of violence.
Applauded the current Governor for his demonstration ,calm and responsible leadership in the face of this other provocative security challenges that the state faced in recent past, He listed some of the communities submerged by series of carnage in Alakyo,Burum-Burum,Yelwa,
The state Governor,Umaru Tanko Al-Makura described the former Governor as a bridge builder, commending members of the concerned group for their concerned, The Governor read riot act to troublemakers in the state, saying that the state Government will set up a powerful commission of inquiry into the mass killings of security men in Alakyo,Adding that present administration will goes tough on anybody or group of persons indicted in the recent killings.
