I’m the Least Traveling Governor – Gov. Al-Makura of Nasarawa

Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura while reacting to media reports describing him as the most traveled Governor the state ever produce, Debunked the report, saying is the least traveling Governor since assumption of office on 29th May, 2011, He gave the hint in a live program with NTA tag media chat, I disagreed with anybody that said I’m the highest traveling Governor.

Out the 36 state Governor’s I’m the least traveling Governor, tell anybody since my coming on board I had never went on leave or traveled for more than one (1) week out of the state, I traveled nine (9) times barely two (2) years in office, He aver that seven (7) trips are for the prosperity of the state while two (2) voyage are on medical trip, adding that his last foreign trip to Singapore was to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with Singaporean Government for the training of youth .

He maintained the effort was to compliment his administrations derive to curb the rising spate of youth unemployment in the state, Youth empowerment and capacity building is among the key objective of my administration, He added that the state Government will give utmost attention to capacity building on youth and graduate through the training of youth on plumbing, electrician, handsets repairs, air conditioners among other artisan-ship ,He said the state Government will also give emphasis to the training of professionals like Nurses, aircraft engineers saying the present system of according attention to paper certificate leads to the increase in army of unemployed youth.

The state is not ready to employed additional workers with the available vacancy due to the meager resource of the state from the federation account, He said the aimed of foreign voyage to Singapore to provide a platform to the teeming youth, while fielding question on the twenty three (23) months regime, Governor Al-Makura listed some of the development stride of his administration to ,saying successive Government are lacking the willpower to woo in development, He aver that numbers of classrooms were constructed ,adding that more are under way, The CPC administration will not left any stone unturned, He however said adequate infrastructural development like township road network, and water were provided to Lafia, Akwanga ,Keffi, Nasarawa and Nasarawa Eggon respectively .

He said the effort was a litmus test to his campaign covenant to the populace, Governor Al-Makura maintained keen attention will be beam on the completion of abandoned projects embarked by my predecessor, “it does not matter if I complete the project initiated by my predecessor and the credit goes to him” Speaking on N400m in intervention allocated to flood victims in the state, The Governor explained that N50m was shared to victims of last year’s disaster while the remaining N350m,according to him was in safe hands, The fund was meant to provide relief to the victims of flood, He said part of the money will be used to relocate Guto community ,a village that was seriously devastated, He added that part of the money will be used to rehabilitated public hospitals, schools and clinics devastated by flood.
