While saying that the gesture was part of his commitments to the socio-economic development of the community, the Governor’s top aide explained that the first phase of the donation would be targeted towards the completion of the civic centre in the area just as he stressed that the move is in consonance with the state government’s three point agenda.

“M y position is a public trust and I owe it to both the governor who appointed me and the entire community. Charity they say begins at home and this is the reason why I have decided to donate a part of my salary to my people.”

“As I travel throughout my LGA (Aniocha North) I will intervene with whatever I have in service to the community. We are in politics to serve the community and not ourselves.” Ofili said.
